Because THE DA VINCI CODE was such a successful movie (in terms of money, not quality), Universal is hoping to break the bank a second time around, as it’s sequel/prequel ANGELS & DEMONS (based on the novel by Dan Brown) has been greenlit, which official begins filming starting this February.
Director Ron Howard will be back behind the camera, and Tom Hanks will be back as well, reprising his role as Robert Langdon. This time around Hanks’ character, a Harvard-based expert on religious symbols, this time sleuths a mystery that involves a secret society and a conspiracy that leads to Vatican City and threatens the future of the Catholic Church.
Ya. I’m so excited. My life can now be complete now this movie is going to be made. Yippee. Personally, I thought THE DA VINCI CODE was one of the worse flicks from last summer, but apparently money talks and bullshit walks… so we’ll see yet another entry. Maybe this time people won’t go to see it… and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt. Get ready for ANGELS & DEMONS in theaters everywhere December 19, 2008.
