Adam Driver joins Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

Back in May we shared the news that TAKING SHELTER director Jeff Nichols was gearing up to helm a 'contemporary science fiction chase film' titled MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, which the director revealed is to be a kind of tribute to 1980's John Carpenter films. Sounds pretty good so far, right? We later learned that Kirsten Dunst, Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton had all signed on for MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, making the project even more intriguing. Now The Wrap has learned that "Girls" star Adam Driver has now boarded the project in an unspecified role.

MIDNIGHT SPECIAL follows a father and son who go on the run after the dad learns his 8 year-old child possesses special powers.

Warner Bros. is producing and distributing. Here's hoping we learn more about MIDNIGHT SPECIAL soon…this one sounds pretty cool.
