The cat – or perhaps the witch – is finally out of the bag. The talented filmaking duo behing YOU’RE NEXT and THE GUEST have a new horror film, and lo and behold, it’s the surprise sequel to an already familiar franchise. BLAIR WITCH is a direct sequel to the surprise hit THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and it’s one of the best horror flicks so far this year – you can check out our review here. Director Adam Wingard and screenwriter Simon Barrett deliver a scary sequel that will certainly please fans of the original, and perhaps even those who didn’t fall under the spell the first time around.
After a successful screening of BLAIR WITCH here at Comic Con on Friday, we sat down the next day with Adam and Simon and talked all things BLAIR WITCH. During our conversation, they opened up about the many rumors surrounding the film, and being able to keep it secret. They also talked about doing original materail and a couple of upcoming features including I SAW THE DEVIL and DEATH NOTE. It’s always terrific to chat with both Adam and Simon, and frankly, I can’t wait to once again step into the woods and search for the BLAIR WITCH when it’s released on September 16th.
