Adi Shankar developing Devil May Cry as an animated series

After the enormous success of Netflix's animated series based upon Konami's Castlevania video-game franchise, it seems that Adi Shankar will soon be bringing another video-game franchise to life. The Castlevania executive-producer spoke with IGN to announce that an animated adaptation of Capcom's Devil May Cry series is in development which will "join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse."

As I know next to nothing about the Devil May Cry video-games, I'll turn to Wikipedia for a short synopsis, which says that the series "centers on the main character Dante's goal of avenging his mother's murder by exterminating demons." Adi Shankar wouldn't elaborate on what story the Devil May Cry animated series will tell, but he did mention that he bought the rights to the franchise himself so that "the jabronis in Hollywood don’t f*** this one up too." There are currently two seasons of Adi Shankar's Castlevania series on Netflix with a third on the way, and Shankar attributes the success of that series with getting Devil May Cry off the ground.
