ADO’s Scream of the Banshee to be SyFy’s 200th Saturday Original Movie

Unfortunately I’m not an avid watcher of SyFy Channel’s Saturday Original Movies. It’s not that I wouldn’t enjoy them… Hell those are the exact types of flicks you’d want to sit back and light up with. But alas my Saturday nights usually consist of massive alcohol consumption. My fellow AITH brethren Eric Walkuski is a huge fan though. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got all 199 Saturday Original Movies under his belt.

What am I getting at here? Well next month SyFy are planning on dropping their 200th Saturday Original Movie in After Dark Originals’ SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE! That’s right folks, SyFy’s 200th! How exciting!

To go along with this occasion SyFy have issued a press release announcing March Monster Madness. What exactly is March Monster Madness? Check it:

Thirty-two of our fun and frantic abominations, ranging from Mansquito to Sharktopus, Mega Shark to Gatoroid, and Rock Monster to Basilisk will square off, with users voting to determine the winner of each round and, ultimately, the champion of the Syfy creature pantheon. In Scream of the Banshee, when a college professor opens a mysterious and ornate box discovered hidden in the tunnels under her university, she and her students hear the horrifying scream of a bloodthirsty Banshee. Everyone who hears the scream is fated to die a strange and terrible death. Now the professor, her daughter and a few of her students must try to stop the Banshee.

SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE comes from director Steven C. Miller and stars Lauren Holly (below) and Lance Henriksen. Mark it on your calenders folks – Saturday March 26th at 9 PM EST, SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE becomes SyFy’s 200th Saturday Original Movie!
