Five months after we shared the teaser trailer for the possession horror thriller Agnes, we’ve gotten our hands on the full trailer for the film, and you can check it out in the embed above! We’re just one month out from the release of Agnes, which is set to reach theatres and VOD on December 10th. This one’s coming to us courtesy of Magnet Releasing.

Directed by Mickey Reece, who also co-wrote the screenplay with John Selvidge, Agnes will show us what happens when

a nun’s disturbing behavior at a remote convent sparks rumors of demonic possession. When a priest-in-waiting and his disillusioned mentor are sent to investigate, their methods backfire, leaving a wake of terror and trauma.

The film stars Molly C. Quinn (Doctor Sleep), Jake Horowitz (The Vast of Night), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chris Sullivan (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Chris Browning (Sons of Anarchy), Ben Hall (Climate of the Hunter), Mary Buss (Camp Cold Brook), and Rachel True (The Craft), with Hayley McFarland (The Conjuring) as the title character.

Molly C. Quinn also produced Agnes alongside Matthew M. Welty and Elan Gale for QWGmire, Jensine Carr for Divide/Conquer, and Jacob Snovel. Zac Locke served as executive producer with Divide/Conquer’s Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath.

Are you a fan of possession movies? If so, how does this one look to you? Will you be watching it in December? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

I’m not generally a fan of this sub-genre, the movies too often just feel like pale imitations of The Exorcist, but I’m willing to give possession / exorcism movies a chance if there’s good word of mouth. Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles described Agnes as “truly original” and “truly disquieting”, so it’s off to a promising start.
