Although the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series has most of the attention from fans at the moment, it’s just one of several Star Wars TV shows on the way. One of those shows is Ahsoka, and THR has reported that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse co-director Peter Ramsey has been tapped to direct at least one episode of the series.

Production on Ahsoka will kick off in Los Angeles later this month, but aside from Peter Ramsey, no other directors have been revealed yet. The series will find Rosario Dawson reprising her role as Ahsoka Tano, and will also star Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, the Mandalorian warrior who starred in Star Wars: Rebels, Ivanna Sakhno as a newly created character, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a mystery characterAhsoka will also see Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker, which will be the second time he’s returned for a Disney+ series. He will also appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Ray Stevenson has also signed to play a mystery villain, who reportedly won’t be Thrawn. We don’t know much about Ahsoka at the moment, but it’s said that the series will involve the former Jedi travelling from one end of the galaxy to another in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn. During Ahsoka’s first live-action appearance in The Mandalorian, she questioned Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth regarding the whereabouts of Thrawn.

Ahsoka won’t be Peter Ramsey’s only live-action project as he’s also serving as the director of Blood Count, a film-noir vampire thriller set in 1950s L.A. that’s said to be loosely inspired by the life of Ramsey’s father, a jazz musician. He’s also set to helm Love in Vain, a biopic centering on Blues icon Robert Johnson. The Ahsoka series will be written by Dave Filoni, who will also executive produce the project with Jon Favreau. The next Star Wars TV series to be released will be Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will debut on Disney+ on May 27, 2022.
