Dread Central had a chance to talk with Alexandre Aja for the upcoming release of HIGH TENSION (which smashes everywhere June 10th). During their talk, Aja dropped some info. on the remake of THE HILLS HAVE EYES, which Aja is directing.
Yes, it pains us to hear of remakes, but when they’re done by someone as cool as Aja, it’s hard not to look forward to it. Especially since the guy has so much passion for the genre, and that particular movie, so you know he’ll stay true to the film, as well as adding his own twisted graphic style.
Here’s a bit of what Aja had to say about EYES:
We’re gonna keep the same setting and it’ll go in the same direction of the survival story with a lot of tension and gory elements, for us it’s the perfect step to develop and push further what we tried in ‘High Tension’.”
Going further than HIGH TENSION? Like, making it truly the goriest, scariest and utterly most f*cked up movie ever made? One word: Awesome! Couldn’t be happier about this remake, that’s for sure!
