Bummer! It turns out that the chaps and lasso rig that Jessica Alba works in the SIN CITY trailer is the closest she gets to naked in the flick. This despite the fact that her character, Nancy, is a stripper who shows the milk and the cow in the comic. Turns out that Rodriguez gave her the choice, and while I respect the hell outta the guy…C’MON! Here’s Alba, talking to Sci-Fi Wire on the lack of skin:
“We could have done it if we wanted to. … Robert said that we could do it if we wanted to. And obviously it would have been more authentic. But I felt like dancing around with a lasso and chaps was going to be sexy enough, and I think being nude, for me, would have been distracting, and … I really couldn’t be bottomless. For my dad. He would really, I don’t know, disown me or something. He would freak out.”
Hate to see somebody admit their choice hurt the authenticity of their character, but at the same time, it’s hard to argue with the dad would be mortified card. Ah well. Look below for a close but no cigar moment.
