The adaptation of PARADISE LOST to be directed by Alex Proyas and star Bradley Cooper as Lucifer was put on hold a couple of months ago, but now it’s been shelved.

Variety reports that budgetary issues were still the concern, because Legendary just couldn’t figure out how to change the script in order to keep costs down. Variety’s source also said that the technology to pull off the film, which depicts a war in heaven, just wasn’t there. I’m going to have to call bullshit on that one- how many lower budgeted films have we seen that have stacked up against the big boys? Hell, even IRON SKY looks to be on par with a big alien invasion film like BATTLESHIP, for a fraction of the budget.

Bradley Cooper was to star with Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, Dominic Purcell, Callan McAuliff, Camilla Belle and Casey Affleck. Now that the actors are free we’ll see what they get up to next.
