Aliens (1986) – WTF Happened to This Sci-Fi Horror Movie?

The latest episode in our video series WTF Happened to This Horror Movie? mixes some sci-fi in with the horror, as the movie we’re looking at this time around is the 1986 James Cameron film Aliens (watch it HERE). To hear what went into the making of this sci-fi horror classic, check out the video embedded above!

Picking up where Alien left off, Aliens tells the following story:

After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley’s shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine year old girl named Newt. But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.

The film stars Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Henn, Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein, Al Matthews, William Hope, Mark Rolston, Ricco Ross, Daniel Kash, Tip Tipping, Trevor Steedman, Cynthia Dale Scott, and Colette Hiller.

This is what the WTF Happened to This Horror Movie series is all about:

Hollywood has had its fair share of historically troubled productions. Whether it was casting changes, actor deaths, fired directors, in-production rewrites, constant delays, budget cuts or studio edits, these films had every intention to be a blockbuster, but were beset with unforeseen disasters. Sometimes huge hits, sometimes box office bombs. Either way, we have to ask: WTF Happened To This Horror Movie?

The Aliens episode of WTF Happened to This Horror Movie was Written, Edited, and Narrated by Tyler Nichols, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
