Aliens vs. Road Crew

JoBloJoBlo

Is safety orange the new black? Yep, as far as Dreamworks is concerned. They’re literally taking the high concept of MEN IN BLACK to the streets – or, more accurately, under it. The studio has grabbed a script called THE SECRET LIVES OF ROAD CREWS, which (and this is truly how it’s being described) is about a “clandestine group of road crew workers who are the last line of defense against a subterranean alien race”.

So… the basic concept is that those guys with hardhats and exposed asscracks who you see regularly descending into manholes are actually going down to grapple with C.H.U.D.s and the monsters from TREMORS? Okay. Fascinating. Well… at least it’s not a remake! The peculiar pitch comes from writers Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott, who also have an action flick at New Line for STEP UP’s hunky hoofer Channing Tatum.
