The passenger cars of the Snowpiercer train are filling up fast. DOCTOR STRANGE director Scott Derrickson is preparing to helm the pilot for a TNT television series based on Bong Joon-ho's 2013 sci-fi film SNOWPIERCER, and there have been several casting announcements over the last month.

If you're not familiar with the concept of Snowpiercer, this series will be

set seven years after an apocalyptic ice age leaves Earth as a frozen wasteland and will focus on the survivors who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.

As previously announced, Daveed Diggs will be playing a prisoner struggling to survive in the tail end of the train, Jennifer Connelly will play a first class passenger who works as the voice on the train's PA system, Mickey Sumner is on the train's security force, Annalise Basso will portray a poor fourth class passenger, and the character played by Sasha Frolova will be returning to the front of the train after serving three years in the prison car.

Now we know who two more of the passengers will be.

Alison Wright has signed on to play Lilah Anderson. "She is careful and quiet but a pragmatic and independent thinker. Lilah lives with her husband and daughter in a fourth-class cabin and works in the train’s nail salon. Lilah doesn’t know how strong she is, but she’ll soon be forced to find out." I believe Lilah is the mother of Basso's character, who is named LJ Anderson.

The Andersons have it better than Fergus McConnell, who will be portrayed by Benjamin Haigh, one of the child actors from THE CONJURING 2. Fergus "lives in the back of the train amongst poverty. He helps his mother care for his sick father, and does his best to contribute to the daily struggles of life in this part of the train."

It's definitely becoming clear that Snowpiercer is going to have plenty of characters to focus on, and those characters are going to have a lot of drama going on in their lives, which will hopefully hook viewers and keep them interested in a series set on a train
