All things Edge/Darkness

Not sure why we haven’t much covered Martin Campbell’s dramatic thriller EDGE OF DARKNESS around these parts, perhaps because one-time box office Midas Mel Gibson is about as popular as syphilis these days. Well, aside from an uncredited role in the 2004 flick PAPARAZZI and logging a trio of episodes on “Complete Savages,” EDGE OF DARKNESS marks the first acting gig for Gibson since 2003s THE SINGING DETECTIVE.

And we’ve got an ass-load of stills from the flick below for your perusal!

Adapted from the popular British television series of the same name by William Monahan (THE DEPARTED) and Andrew Bovell (LANTANA), EDGE OF DARKNESS follows:

Homicide detective Thomas Craven, as he investigates the death of his activist daughter, and uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.

I just hope Gibson harks back to the laconic, take-no-shit demeanor of say, his role in PAYBACK. Or hell, gimme Riggs at 54 sans the mullet and I’m happy!

Danny Huston, Ray Winstone, Caterina Scorsone, Shawn Roberts, Peter Hermann, Denis O’Hare, Bojana Novakovic (below), Frank Grillo, Jay O. Sanders, Wayne Duvall and David Aaron baker all compliment Mel in various roles.

EDGE OF DARKNESS lights theaters January 29th.

Enjoy the shots below, and feel free to watch the trailer for the flick in our Video Section.

The lovely Bojana Novakovic!
