That Danny Trejo contiues to be a lucky bastard…

Amber Heard is the latest big name to sign on for Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE KILLS, which is moving along at a pretty quick clip right now.

Heard, who will play a manipulative assassin code-named Miss San Antonio, joins Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Mel Gibson and Demian Bichir in MACHETE KILLS, which commences production later this month in Austin, Texas.

The new film finds Machete (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer (Gibson) who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.

20th Century Fox will distribute.
