American Horror Stories poster features the Murder House

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I have never watched a full season of the FX series American Horror Story, but I have seen a couple episodes of the first season, which is now referred to as American Horror Story: Murder House. So the images on the poster for the upcoming spin-off series American Horror Stories are familiar even to me. On this poster is not just the "murder house" itself, but also the "Rubber Man" from that season of American Horror Story… but in this case, it looks like there's a "Rubber Woman" in that latex bodysuit.

What is this all about? We'll have to wait until American Horror Stories makes its debut on "FX on Hulu" next month. The premiere date is July 15th.

Consisting of standalone episodes that each tell a contained story, rather than the original show's approach of telling a story over the course of an entire season, American Horror Stories will be exclusive to the Hulu streaming service. The first season has seven hour-long episodes.

The cast of American Horror Stories includes American Horror Story veterans Matt Bomer, Taissa Farmiga, Naomi Grossman, Billie Lourd, and Evan Peters – and "spy pictures" taken of the production have given indication that Peters is reprising the role of Tate Langdon, his Murder House character. If so, this won't be the first time he has played Tate again since American Horror Story season 1 ended. The character also made an appearance in the "Return to Murder House" episode of the eighth season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

Danny Trejo, Kevin McHale, Madison Bailey, Sierra McCormick, Paris Jackson, and Kaia Gerber are also in the cast.

American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson is believed to have directed an episode of American Horror Stories.

This American Horror Stories poster makes it look like this show won't be a good entry point for new viewers, because you might need to be able to understand references to the "mothership show".
