We've said it before, but it bears repeating…we live in a great era of horror television!

Emmy nominations are in and our beloved genre is getting some love as "American Horror Story: Asylum" took home the most nominations with 17 nods, beating out HBO's "Game Of Thrones," which earned 16. Equally as exciting, Vera Farmiga earned a nomination as Norma Bates under the "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" category for A&E's "Bates Motel". Nice!

What isn't as surprising is that the always incredible Jessica Lange earned another nomination for her work on "American Horror Story: Asylum" (remember, she won last year for her work on the show) in the category "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini-Series or Movie". Just go ahead and give her the Emmy, folks…her's was the finest performance on television last season.

The awards will be handed out on September 22nd. Check out the full list of nominees HERE.
