American Horror Story: Double Feature trailer promotes next week’s premiere

Last Updated on August 19, 2021

An American Horror Story: Double Feature trailer has arrived to tease the tenth season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, and you can check it out in the embed above. This season is set to begin airing on August 25th and is going to be split into two stories – the first of which is called Red Tide and centers on characters played by Finn Wittrock and Lily Rabe. You can get a preview of what their characters are like by watching the new trailer.

The premiere episode of Double Feature is titled Cape Fear and has the following synopsis:

A struggling writer, his pregnant wife, and their daughter move to an isolated beach town for the winter. Once they’re settled in, the town’s true residents begin to make themselves known.

This season is called Double Feature because it will be telling two horrifying stories, one by the sea… the other by the sand.

Following Red Tide, the second story of the season is called Death Valley. The promotional images for the show imply that Red Tide will be dealing with killer mermaids / sirens… and if it weren’t for the fact that we’re expecting such creatures, I wouldn’t have made any connection between the creepy characters glimpsed in the trailer and killer mermaids.

In addition to Wittrock and Rabe, the cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature includes Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, and Kaia Gerber. This is the second trailer to come out after the first one a few weeks ago.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that Culkin will be playing an “insane part” that involves having “crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates”. Paulson teased that her character “has some issues” and sports a hair color that has never been on Paulson’s head before.

Be sure to check out the Double Feature trailer above, and the series will be available to watch through the “FX on Hulu” streaming service the day after they first air on the FX channel.
