Amy Poehler set to join Will Ferrell in New Line’s new comedy, The House

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

A new comedy in the works at New Line Cinema which is set to unite two of Saturday Night Live's most illustrious alumni; Amy Poehler is in talks to star alongside Will Ferrell in THE HOUSE. The story deals with a married couple who managed to lose their daughter's college fund. In their desperation to win back the cash, they team up with their neighbours and start up an illegal casino in the basement of their suburban home.

THE HOUSE has been written by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O'Brien, the writers of NEIGHBORS. In addition to co-writing THE HOUSE, Andrew J. Cohen will also be making his feature directorial debut with the film. THE HOUSE will film in Los Angeles and is looking to commence production this August.

Amy Poehler has proven herself to be quite hilarious and a pairing with Will Ferrell should provide some great potential for comedy, especially if she manages to rein in some of his more…shall we say, shouty behavior. Amy Poehler will next be seen, or heard rather, in Pixar's INSIDE OUT which will see release on June 19, 2015. Will Ferrell's next film will be DADDY'S HOME which will see him reunited with his THE OTHER GUYS co-star Mark Wahlberg and should see release on December 25, 2015.
