The guys over at Dread Central are dropping some news today on the Norwegian horror flick FRITT VILT, or COLD PREY as it’s called here in the US. Before I get into the news though, let me just point out that a year ago we let you know that COLD PREY 2 was in the works. I’ve thrown up a poster for the sequel below, which seemingly got released last week.
But alas, the news today isn’t on COLD PREY 2, instead it’s on the original, which will apparently be hitting DVD shelves soon thanks to Anchor Bay! That’s right. The dudes over at DC dropped word that Anchor Bay Home Entertainment have picked up distribution rights for the slasher flick. Awesome!
It’s no secret that we’re all pretty huge fans of slashers here at AITH. Hell we even enjoy a good slasher more than sex… well… yes, yes we do. And word has it that COLD PREY isn’t bad at all, so I’m definately stoked for this news! I can’t wait to catch this violent snowboarding adventure on DVD. Here’s the synopsis: Jannicke, Morten Tobias, Eirik, Mikael and Ingunn are on a snowboarding vacation in Jotunheimen. They are forced to take shelter in an abandoned hotel when Morten Tobias breaks his leg and their car is too far away for them to reach within nightfall. They quickly discover that the hotel was closed in the seventies due to the disappearance of the managers’ son. Unknown to them, someone is still living in the hotel, and getting home, or even surviving the stay, isn’t as easy as they believe.
COLD PREY comes from director Roar Uthaug with Thomas Moldestad penning the script. It stars Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Rolf Kristian Larsen, Tomas Alf Larsen, Endre Martin Midtstigen, and Viktoria Winge. Now those are some names, here’s hoping they put on a good show! Keep it here for any more COLD PREY or COLD PREY 2 updates, like some release dates.
