One flick we’ve been talking about for a while here at AITH is Xavier Gens’ THE DIVIDE. Hell I can’t remember the first time we told you about this thing, but alas here we are still going. Today we come one step closer to actually checking this one out though!
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog THE DIVIDE found some more success at this year’s SXSW when Anchor Bay snatched up the US rights to the film. Natch! Fielding interest pretty much immediately, THE DIVIDE had several other studios interested including Sony, IFC, Relativity, Xlrator, E1 and FilmDistrict. But alas Anchor Bay came out the victors!
When a mysterious cataclysmic bomb devastates New York, eight strangers take refuge in the basement of their apartment building. The residents soon succumb to cabin fever as fear of sickness, dwindling supplies, and ruthless outside invaders, plays on their mind. However Eva, the only young woman, has her own worries as the men begin to regress into dangerous packs. She quickly learns to be ruthless if she wants to survive, aware that her sanctuary is becoming her hell. Will her survival ultimately be at the expense of her humanity?
THE DIVIDE stars Michael Biehn, Milo Ventimiglia, Lauren German (below), Rosanna Arquette, Michael Eklund and Courtney B. Vance. Of course there’s no release date pegged yet for THE DIVIDE but as soon as that news comes our way you can be sure we’ll pass it along to all of you!
