TV Line reports that – in the vein of the recent STAR TREK animated series LOWER DECKS – X-FILES creator Chris Carter is executive producing a new animated comedy based in the X-FILES universe called X-FILES: ALBUQUERQUE that will not involve either Agent Mulder or Scully (which will assuredly save money on the voice cast).
Anyway, here's the official synopsis:
The potential series will center an office full of misfit agents who investigate X-Files cases too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to bother with. They’re essentially the X-Files’ B-team.
Meanwhile, the pilot will be Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko (Netflix's PARADISE PD…which is kind of a foreboding sign, to be honest).
