I am VERY cautiously optimistic about THE LAST AIRBENDER, because everything I’ve seen from it so far looks cool and the source material is pure brilliance. But it IS M. Night Shyamalan, who has made each of his last six movies worse than the one that came before it, so that’s why I can’t put my full trust in the project. I’m hoping we can avoid continuing this downward trend by jumping genres, and honestly, I’m not sure you can even GO lower than THE HAPPENING.
There’s a new poster for the film which you can see below via Empire. It features a wind/fire dual between Aang and Zuko, and has a detailed look at Ang’s arrow head tattoo. I really do like what they’ve done with those tattoos, making them tribal and ancient looking rather than simple flat blue arrows like they are in the show.
I have faith, but if you ruin this for me Shyamalan, I swear I’ll never forgive you.
