Guess the studios are eager to lock up release dates for their genre flicks, as we’ve got yet another announcement for your candy corn-eating asses (after a handful of dates were already snatched up earlier today). Warner Bros. has nailed down a JUNE 22, 2012 date for Timur Bekmambetov’s ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. Perfect for when the kiddies are getting out of school. (Kids love Abe Lincoln, right?)

According to Variety, pre-production is about to start, and the budget has been set at $69 million. The 3D film, based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s book, is being produced by Tim Burton and Jim Lemley (who collaborated with Tim and Timur on 9).

Should be damned interesting to see who they get to play Lincoln. Liam Neeson was attached to Steven Spielberg’s biopic about the president for years, and that’s no longer happening. Natural choice, right? Let’s see if Bekmambetov goes for it…

The synopsis: A sweeping epic of our greatest president as we’ve never seen him: an ax-throwing, highly trained vampire assassin. The novel reveals for the first time his secret lifelong battle with the undead.
