Just a couple days ago Eric hit you all with the news that The CW had found their leading ladies for their upcoming zombie series “The Awakening” and here I am today with more casting news for this little diddy! Things are moving fast with this one!
Ready for the goods? Young actor Brian Hallisay has just joined the project, so says the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting. Now Hallisay (right) isn’t a big name or anything but he has been around so you might recognize him, but you probably don’t. He joins the previously announced Lucy Griffiths (below) and Meredith Hagner in the zombie series.
“The Awakening” centers on two combative sisters (Meredith Hagner and Lucy Griffiths) who come of age amid the beginning of a zombie uprising. Word has it that the series follows thousands of zombies living “normal lives” among the living (also known as the “pre-dead”). The two worlds collide and cause war between the living and the dead.
Are The CW really going to try and compete with FX’s “The Walking Dead” here? Seriously?? Let’s compare the number of hit shows FX has produced as opposed to The CW. That’s what I thought. Alas we can’t turn away from a zombie television show so I say let’s give this one a shot until it proves it isn’t worth our time. Who knows… maybe it’ll be entertaining?
Veteran TV director David Von Ancken has been tapped to helm the pilot episode of “The Awakening” though it hasn’t been determined when things will actually get underway. I think it’s safe to assume this shite will go down soon so be sure to check back soon for updates!
