In another one of those ‘cash-in’ moments, Fox will release a Collector’s Edition of THE OMEN just in time for when the remake hits theatres June 6th.
DVDActive reports that the film will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with Dolby Digital English Stereo and Mono tracks. Coming over from the original release (sans the garbage sequels) are the commentary by director Richard Donner & writer/director Brian Helgeland, a Jerry Goldsmith on the Omen Score feature and the 46 minute 666: The Omen Revealed featurette.
New this time around is an introduction to the special edition of THE OMEN by director Richard Donner, a Curse or Coincidence featurette a deleted scene (Dog Attack) with commentary by director Richard Donner and & writer/director Brian Helgeland, a David Seltzer on Writing the Omen featurette, An Appreciation: Wes Craven on THE OMEN feature, and a still gallery.
Strangely, no word on the trailer from the original DVD being included, which is stupid. Why companies don’t put a two minute clip on the DVD and instead shovels on crap is beyond me. Stay tuned for cover artwork.
