Filming for Ant-Man 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, is officially complete. The film’s director, Peyton Reed, said as much on Twitter on Tuesday in addition to posting some sweet artwork by artist Mark James Hiblin. The image depicts Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang in Giant-Man Mode with a miniaturized Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) riding atop his head. In addition to the artwork, Reed expressed his excitement to share more with Marvel fans soon.

In October, Lilly spoke with Collider about the film’s script by Jeff Loveness, saying that he’s come up with something special for Ant-Man and the Wasp’s next big adventure.

“I think he is phenomenal,” said Lilly. “I think he’s one of the best writers we’ve ever had. I think he’s got an incredible mastery of voice. So, on the page, I could hear all the characters, and I knew that he’d really kind of harnessed each person’s unique personality. I just think that it’s going to be really special. I actually think it has the chance to be the best one we’ve done yet.”

While plot details for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania remain under wraps, the threequel may see the return of Corey Stoll’s villain Yellowjacket. Earlier this year, Evangeline Lilly got fans wondering whether Corey Stoll might be returning as Yellowjacket when she tagged Stoll in a since-deleted Instagram post of the upcoming sequel’s script. Since then, we’ve seen a giant Yellowjacket helmet pop up in an episode of Loki when the title character is sent to the Void, a dimension at the end of time where everything the TVA prunes gets sent to. Given all the theories connecting the TVA to the Quantum Realm, it’s possible that this is where Darren Cross ended up. In an episode of Vanity Fair’s Still Watching podcast, VF’s senior writer Joanna Robinson commented on the easter egg and seemed to confirm that Corey Stoll will be returning for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, at least in some form.

“There’s a Yellowjacket helmet,” said Robinson. “This large version of the helmet that I suppose Corey Stoll wore in Ant-Man, and the only reason that is super interesting to me is because there’s a theory going around that all of the TVA stuff is taking place in the Quantum Realm because it’s a place out of time, and so, I don’t know if that’s an indication of something to come, but do know that Corey Stoll, in some shape, will be back for Ant-Man 3.”

Regardless of principal photography for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania being complete, we still have a long way to go before the film hits theaters on July 28, 2023. Meanwhile, fans can still look forward to other MCU titles hitting screens, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6, 2022, Thor: Love and Thunder on July 8, 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 11, 2022, and The Marvels on February 17, 2023. Be sure to mark your calendars accordingly and keep your eyes open for more details.
