Anthony Mackie Joins Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Christmas Comedy

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It was announced earlier this year that director Jonathan Levine (50/50, WARM BODIES) would once again team up with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for an untitled Christmas comedy. Things seem to be rolling on as they might have landed their other leading man. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER star Anthony Mackie is in talks to join the movie that is set to begin shooting this summer.

The comedy follows three childhood best friends who meet in New York City for an annual Christmas Eve reunion. Jonathan Levine also wrote the script; there are no other details right now so we are anxiously waiting as this sounds positivity intriguing. The pairing of Rogen and JGL in 50/50 was perfect; I think most people having watched that movie were hoping to see them together again.

Anthony Mackie seems like a solid choice for the third best friend as he has been hitting heights in recent years with great performances in HURT LOCKER and PAIN & GAIN. Yet, I’ll always remember him as the jackass who beat the crap out of Danger Barch in MILLION DOLLAR BABY, not cool.

No word on a release date, but if I were a betting man, I would say probably December 2015.
