There have been so many Stephen King adaptations over the years, some of them seem to have slipped through the cracks. One of the best King adaptations that doesn’t get enough attention is the 1998 film Apt Pupil (watch it HERE) – and that’s why we’re shining a spotlight on it with the latest episode of our video series The Best Horror Movie You Never Saw. Directed by Bryan Singer from a screenplay by Brandon Boyce (based on a novella that was included in King’s story collection Different Seasons), Apt Pupil has the following synopsis:

Todd Bowden is a high school student studying the Holocaust who discovers that his neighbor is a death camp criminal hiding out in America. Bowden makes him an offer; tell me what they don’t tell us in school and I won’t turn you in, and the old man agrees, but then as the revelations begin to affect Todd’s health and work, school counselor Mr. French becomes suspicious.

The film stars Ian McKellen, Brad Renfro, Bruce Davison, Elias Koteas, David Schwimmer, Ann Dowd, James Karen, Joe Morton, Jan Tříska, Michael Byrne, Heather McComb, and Joshua Jackson.
