It's been quite some time since we've heard any word on Anthony DiBlasi's CASSADAGA, which we first heard about way back in 2010 and last reported on in October of 2011 when we shared the freaky trailer and some stills from the supernatural flick with ya. If you've been wondering what ever came of CASSADAGA, wonder no more as we now have word that Archstone Distribution has picked up the gory shocker with plans to release the movie to theaters, VOD, and digital services next month.

DiBlasi, who was a producer on MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN and helmed the creepy Clive Barker adaptation DREAD, directs the horror/thriller CASSADAGA, which opens day-and-date in theaters and On Demand October 11. CASSADAGA marks Archstone’s second digital release with distributor Starz Digital Media. The film stars Kelen Coleman (Fox’s “The Mindy Project,” CHILDREN OF THE CORN: GENESIS) and Kevin Alejandro (HBO’s “True Blood,” CBS’s “Golden Boy”) .

CASSADAGA tells the story of Lily Morel (Kelen Coleman), a post-lingually deaf artist, who participates in a séance in the spiritualist community of Cassadaga. But instead of getting closure with her recently departed sister, Lily contacts the vengeful ghost of a murdered woman. As the ghost becomes increasingly angry and violent, Lily rushes to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death – a task that will bring her face-to-face with a sadistic serial killer who turns his victims into human marionette dolls.

CASSADAGA is produced and written by Scott Poiley and Bruce Wood, and co-stars Louise Fletcher (Showtime’s “Shameless,” The Last Sin Eater), Rus Blackwell and Lucas Beck.

Look for it in theaters and On Demand on October 11.
