Army of the Dead Interviews: Omari Hardwick, Ella Purnell, Tig Notaro & more

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A common refrain from actors that have worked with Zack Snyder is that he's among the most character-driven directors out there, and is very keen to collaborate with the cast to flesh out the characters from whatever's on the page to what we see on the big screen. Ray Fisher has mentioned this repeatedly, and during my Army of the Dead interviews, pretty much every cast member mentioned this to me. As you'll see above, it led to a spin-off movie, Army of Thieves, for cast-member Matthias Schweighöfer, who, along with Omari Hardwick, plays the movie's Tango & Cash style duo Dieter and Vanderohe. Much more to come from both of these guys next week, as they sat down for extended, but spoiler-filled, interviews – so we'll hold onto those for now.

Next up, a chat with Ella Purnell, Tig Notaro, Nora Arnezeder, and Ana De La Reguera, who make up the rest of Dave Bautista's zombie killing crew. Sadly, I didn't get a ton of time with them, but Arnezeder also sat down for an extended interview after this, so loads more to come next week on her super cool, Ripley-esque character.

Army of the Dead hits Netflix today!
