I certainly hope you guys recall the last time I mentioned an upcoming flick called THE BEAUTIFUL OUTSIDERS. Not just because it sounds like one intense on-the-lam thriller, but because our head honcho, The Arrow, has a sweet role in it! And, as any faithful AITH reader knows, our Arrow livens up every flick he enters!
And, today, I have some cool news regarding these OUTSIDERS. It appears that it has just scored a brand new cast member in the form of raspy-voiced vampire hunter and GOONIE-for-life, Corey Feldman! That’s right! The dude (below) will be playing the role of Sam Fuller, a detective who leads the hunt for fugitive lovers Jason Starkweather (played by Cameron Douglas) and Sarah Fugate (Shannen Doherty). Pretty nice! I like the idea of Feldman as a detective. Here’s the plot that he’s factoring into:
After six years, former drug addict Jason Starkweather is released from prison. Placed in a halfway house and in a dead end job he struggles to suppress the urge to return to his old ways. His ex-girlfriend Sarah Fugate works in a brothel to pay her way through university while living with an abusive older man. Desperate to make up for his past mistakes, Jason tracks Sarah down. A shocking incident reunites the couple and they go on the run, fleeing the authorities while rekindling their love for one another. After a number of incidents on the road, including betrayal by a friend of Jason’s, the couple take sanctuary in the house of affluent Richard and his daughter Shannon. Eventually the unlikely foursome are brought together by the shared pain of their pasts and forge a genuine bond as the police close in.
The film is from writer/director, Andrew Jones. The rest of the cast joining Arrow, Feldman, Doherty, and Douglas includes Jeff Anderson, Brad Dourif, Doug Bradley, David Hess, Giovanni Lombardo Radice, Claire King, Sarah Barrand, Stuart Cable and Stephanie James. Filming should begin in October.
