Writer/director Tom Paton’s psychological thriller Assailant is being exclusively released by Redbox in the United States tomorrow, March 22nd, and today we’re proud to share an EXCLUSIVE clip from the film that shows Casper Van Dien‘s character, who has been described as a “demented” villain, acting very creepy toward protagonists played by Chad Michael Collins and Poppy Delevingne. You can watch the clip in the embed above, where it’s followed by the film’s trailer.

Assailant will premiere On Demand via the Redbox streaming app, which is available on devices that include Roku, VIZIO, Samsung, LG, iOS, and Android, as well as through digital retailers that include iTunes and VUDU, among others.

Shot in the islands of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the film centers on a

British couple, Zoe and Jason, who book a private cruise in the Caribbean in hopes of rekindling their relationship and saving their marriage. After a seemingly harmless bar fight between the husband and a mysterious drifter, the situation devolves into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. The couple must fight together to save themselves from the Assailant.

Also in the cast is the great character actor Jeff Fahey.

Assailant was produced by MSR Media’s Philippe Martinez and Highfield Grange Studios’ Alan Latham. Lee Beasley and Karinne Behr from MSR Media, Kirsty Bell, Sherborne Media’s Alastair Burlingham and Charlie Dombek, and Redbox C.E.O. Galen Smith served as Executive Producers. Production financing was provided by Sherborne Media.

I’m always up to watch a cool psychological thriller, and this one looks like it has the makings of a good time to me. After you’ve watched the clip and the trailer, let us know how Assailant looks to you by leaving a comment below. Will you be watching this movie?
