We were given a heads up about this little independent Australian horror slasher satirical flick I KNOW HOW MANY RUNS YOU SCORED LAST SUMMER. Yes, we all know what movie the title is spoofing, but considering it’s a slasher flick revolving around cricket, I couldn’t pass it up. I mean, a cricket slasher? Really?
The film is premiering in Sydney on March 26th as part of A Night of Horror International Film Festival, which sounds like something I would totally go to… if it weren’t located on the complete opposite side of the world. Bummer!
The film, co-written and co-directed by Stacey Edmonds and Doug Turner, goes like this: A cricket team are dismissed by a moustachioed serial killer with a razor sharp cricket glove and an arsenal of sharpened stumps. One by one the killer exacts revenge for the torment he endured 20 years earlier.
Hell yeah. We’ve seen an assload of slashers before, but cricket slashers? I can honestly say it’s a first! Starring Jai Koutrae, Stacey Edmonds, and Az Jackson, the film is set to hit theaters in Australia sometime in June.
