Here is something you don’t see everyday: concept art from James Cameron’ AVATAR featuring the uncomfortably sexy alien race “the Na’vi”. These images were revealed by artist Jonay Bacallado on a Spanish talk show (hence the quality isn’t going to be great), along with some drawings from the upcoming DRAGONBALL (but who seriously gives a shit about that?).
As you can see, the Na’vi – at least this particular one – is a dreadlock-sportin’, boobalicious species with a fondness for spears and looking soulfully into your eyes. Considering this movie is using photo-realistic CG effects AND is being shot with a revolutionary new camera system (in 3D, no less), we’ll be getting rather up close and personal with these sensual extraterrestrials. (Yes, I’m aware that I’ve already projected myself into a strange and unhealthy fantasy world involving the weird creatures that no one understands but me… I need help now more than ever.)
In case you’ve been living on another planet your own self, here’s what Cameron’s epic is about: A paraplegic ex-marine war veteran is unwillingly sent to establish a human settlement on the distant planet of Pandora, only to find himself battling humankind alongside the planet’s indigenous Na’vi race.
AVATAR stars Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana and is due to come out DECEMBER ’09. Frankly, if this highly-anticipated movie doesn’t blow my socks off, I’m going to kill myself. You heard it here first!
