HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN will have its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend, and to hype the screenings IGN got their hands on a badass new one-sheet. Check it out below. The poster carries over the movie’s grindhouse-era inspiration – which is appropriate, since the film exists because a fake trailer for it was the winner of a competition for GRINDHOUSE back in 2007.
The flick is directed by Jason Eisener off a script penned by John Davies. Rutger Hauer (THE HITCHER) plays the titular bum, who stars alongside Gregory Smith, Molly Dunsworth, Brian Downey, Nick Bateman, and Jeremy Akerman. Here’s the synopsis:
HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN tells the story of a vigilante homeless man who pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city’s crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how – with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail.
Magnet Releasing acquired the rights to the film last month. No dates have been set yet, but expect video-on-demand and limited theatrical releases later this year.
