Barbarians trailer: Catalina Sandino Moreno horror film gets theatrical, VOD release in the UK this weekend

Charles Dorfman has more than ten years of producing credits to his name, including an associate producer credit on Best Picture winner The King’s Speech; executive producer credits on films like Satanic Panic, The Fanatic, VFW, Boys from County Hell, Death of Me, and Skylines; and a producer credit on recent Oscar nominee The Lost Daughter. Now Dorfman has made his feature directorial debut with the home invasion horror thriller Barbarians, which is set to reach theatres and VOD in the UK this Friday, April 1st. In anticipation of the film’s release, we have the trailer embedded above.

Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace), Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Tom Cullen (Weekend), and Inès Spiridonov (Seuls) star in Barbarians, which has the following synopsis:

Set over the course of twenty-four hours, Barbarians sees couple Adam (Rheon) and Eva (Moreno) wake up in their supposed dream house on Adam’s birthday. Lucas (Cullen), property developer and friend of the couple, arrives for dinner with his actress girlfriend Chloe (Spiridonov), to celebrate Adam’s birthday and the couple’s buying of the house. But secrets unravel over dinner, and when the doorbell rings the evening takes a nightmarish turn. As manners give way to madness, an ‘idyllic’ evening of celebration descends into a dark night of terror; and the group’s civilized dinner party turns out to be anything but.

Also in the cast are Will Kemp (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce), Connor Swindells (Sex Education), Tommy McDonnell (Prime Suspect: Tennison), and Steve Saunders (The Last Dragonslayer).

Dorfman wrote the screenplay, working from a story by Statten Roeg. He also produced Barbarians alongside Laurie Cook and Jason Newmark. Neil Jones was co-producer, Nathan Adabadze was associate producer, and David Gilbery and Marlon Vogelgesang served as executive producers.
