Alright, this is getting ridiculous. First it was COWBOYS AND ALIENS, then it was ROBOTS VS. ZOMBIES, and now it’s DINOSAURS VS. ALIENS?! Movies are officially being greenlit by studio exec’s 13-year-old boys.

I know I shouldn’t complain, as it’s one of those projects that gets your inner (and/or outer) nerd’s radar beeping. After all, what could be cooler than dinosaurs fighting aliens?! Hopefully the actual film lives up to the insane premise…

Barry Sonnenfeld is the man in charge of making it happen, as he will team with comic book writer Grant Morrison to develop a graphic novel and movie under the banner: DOMINION: DINOSAURS VS. ALIENS. The graphic novel will chronicle a secret prehistoric world war battle. When an alien invasion attacks Earth in the age of the dinosaurs, the planet’s only hope is the giants that roam the planet with, it turns out, a lot more intelligence than previously realized.

Sonnenfeld had this to say: “Growing up, my fascination was all things dinosaur, and as an adult, I’ve had some success making films about aliens, so this is a dream come true,”

The graphic novel will be published later this year. Morrison is writing both the comic and the screenplay.

From Sonnenfeld’s next, MEN IN BLACK III, Nicole Scherzinger
