With the critical and cult success of shows like Orphan Black or Sherlock, and Doctor Who becoming something of a global phenomenon, BBC America has been seeking more and more titles to sell to a slavering young public. Their newest sci-fi development is also a reboot of a classic sci-fi series: Quatermass.

The character of Bernard Quatermass has appeared in many different television series and films over the course of his long career, which began in 1953, but this will his first appearance since the 2005 TV movie reboot of THE QUATERMASS EXPERIMENT.

The series is about:

a professor and his daughter who investigate an alien invasion.

Quatermass will be written by Jeremy Dyson for Red while StudioCanal handles international distribution.
