Behind-the-scenes shot of The Batman reveals that other DC heroes exist!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So this is interesting. There have been multiple behind-the-scenes shots of Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN starring Robert Pattinson popping up all over Twitter and social media as it moves its production to Chicago. Now, that's not too interesting unto itself (as they're shooting in a major city, most people have cellphones, and security can only do so much), but rather what they're taking pictures of. Namely, people in Superman and Wonder Woman costumes:

Now, it's pretty clear that these aren't going to be the actual Superman and Wonder Woman, even in the diegesis of the film (most likely an in-movie Halloween party or something). However, even regular citizens in Gotham wearing DC superhero costumes means there's a good chance other superheroes presumably exist in this iteration.

There's also this tweet, which is reportedly taken from a Gotham taxi, which explains the film is set in 2019 (or at least present-day, and not the 90s, as was once speculated):

Take all this with a grain of salt, of course, until we get more confirmation or the film finally comes out. But it's fun to speculate!

Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

In his second year of fighting crime, Batman explores the corruption that plagues Gotham City and how it may tie to his own family, in addition to coming into conflict with a serial killer known as the Riddler.

Meanwhile, THE BATMAN is set to brood in theaters March 4th, 2022!

So what do you guys think? Would you prefer Batman to be alone in his universe, ala THE DARK KNIGHT series? Either way, sound off below!
