Bella Thorne Scream

Actress Bella Thorne certainly keeps busy, and it just so happens that the majority of the projects she takes on are in the thriller and horror genres (that's her in the Scream TV show above). It has now been announced that Thorne will be starring in a thriller titled GIRL, which will mark the feature debut of writer/director Chad Faust.

Thorne will be playing

a young woman who returns to her small hometown intent on killing her abusive father, only to discover someone murdered him the day before. As the girl searches for answers, she uncovers a family legacy more dangerous than she'd imagined.

I'm intrigued to find out what this dangerous family legacy is.

GIRL is being produced by Lee Nelson and David Tish of Envision Media Arts. Double Dutch International will be presenting the project to potential distributors at the European Film Market in Berlin. CAA Finance is handling a U.S. sale.

Double Dutch International CEO Jason Moring had this to say about GIRL and its star:

Bella is a very talented, young actress who makes bold choices. This is a strong lead role that will not just resonate with Bella's massive fan base, but also with the cultural zeitgeist."

Moring will be executive producing the film alongside Double Dutch International's Stanley Preschutti and Mark Padilla.

GIRL is set to begin filming in Canada this March.
