Ben Affleck, Matt Damon to order up a McDonald’s Monopoly Fraud movie

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The Dynamic Duo, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, are teaming up for a movie centered around an ex-cop who rigged McDonald's Monopoly game to make off with millions in real money. The project is based on a recent article published by Daily Beast reporter Jeff Maysh, and will center around an FBI investigation into uncovering the underground criminal organization run by an individual named "Uncle Jerry." The story goes that, for several years, the group willingly defrauded the fast food chain's annual game that gives customers the chance to win millions in cash and prizes. Funnily enough, known criminal mastermind and McDonald's mascot, The Hamburglar, has been cleared of any involvement in the caper.

Penning the film will be DEADPOOL series writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Meanwhile, Matt Damon is looking to star with Affleck on board to direct. Additionally, Affleck and Damon will produce courtesy of their Pearl Street studio. The rights to the story were part of a competitive up-for-grabs between Universal, Warner Bros. and Netflix.

Could this project be part of Affleck's on-again-off-again plans to leave his Batman role? How do you think the McDonald's brand feels about this story moving to the big screen? Has Mayor McCheese offered any comments related to the heist? Be sure to leave us your thoughts in the comments section below.
