Ben Affleck's THE BATMAN (if that indeed ends up being the title) has had a pretty rough go of it. First Affleck drops out as director, then replacement Matt Reeves almost doesn't take the gig, and now it seems the film is being delayed once more. Variety reporter Justin Kroll recently tweeted about the situation:
Hearing Matt Reeves contracted to work on APES till at least end of June, so production on BATMAN likely not starting till 2018

He then added:
Also means any casting rumors you hear are likely BS seeing that he wouldn't have time to meet with any talent till at least July

So that's kind of a bummer. Life is always better with some Batman in it. But on the other hand, it does show Warner is trying to get this one perfect, even willing to postpone shooting and missing a release date to do it. So that's good, right? Then again, they pushed the release date of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN a year as well, and…hmmm…
So I guess THE BATMAN will be premiering in theaters who the fuck knows when.
