Color me shocked! Color me surprised! Color me absolutely floored! Variety announced this morning that Julie Benz, featured in RAMBO, the upcoming PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, and even as Arrow’s MISTRESS OF THE WEEK, has been cast to headline SAW V for Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures!
Why am I so surprised? With Benz rocking RAMBO and WAR ZONE, we’ve been keeping a close eye on her, and she has to be the last person I would have expected to jump on board the SAW franchise… but as you can see–what the hell do I know???
Benz toplines the fifth installment of the series, this time directed by David Hackl, and written by both Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. Mum’s still the word on what the hell the fifth installment will be about, as is what Benz’s role is going to be… I guess you’ll just have to stick around to find out!
SAW V, which hasn’t even started filming yet, is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere October 24th, 2008.
