Skyline 2 aka Beyond Skyline gets a poster w/ Frank Grillo

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Back in 2010 there was a movie called SKYLINE. The trailer looked promising, but then I heard it was from the directors of the abysmal ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM and I was like, "no thanks".

Then a few friends of mine told me I was being a jerk and that I should give the movie a chance. I didn't bother and went about finding a new set of friends.

As it turns out maybe they were right and maybe I was wrong as it seems someone had to have liked the original flick enough to green-light and finance a sequel called BEYOND SKYLINE.

To each is own, I guess. But I acknowledge it isn't fair for me to hate on a movie I have never seen. Someone tell me I'm missing out in skipping SKYLINE and I'll give it watch.

Hello? What, really? No one? Yeah, that's what I thought.

That said, the new SKYLINE flick does have Frank Grillo in it. So that's pretty cool. Anyways, enough of this. Here's the poster.

BEYOND SKYLINE is the sequel to the 2010 film Skyline, and is directed by Liam O'Donnell. It stars Frank Grillo, Bojana Novakovic, Iko Uwais, Callan Mulvey, Yayan Ruhian, Betty Gabriel and Antonio Fargas.

Here's the film's synopsis:

Set concurrently with the previous Skyline film but in a different undisclosed location during the worldwide alien invasion, Mark, a tough-as-nails detective, embarks on a relentless pursuit to free his son, Trent, from a nightmarish alien warship.

Liam O’Donnell wrote the script for the film, along with the script for the first film, and will now direct as well as produce with Greg and Colin Strause. The Strause Brothers were, of course, the directors of the first film.

The release date is unknown at this time.

Brittany Daniel starred in the original SKYLINE
