Bidding war happening over War Party starring Tom Hardy about a Navy SEAL

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

So Tom Hardy is attached to a packaged deal for a pitch called WAR PARTY about an elite Navy SEAL, with Andrew Dominik (THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD) writing and directing, and Ridley Scott producing through his Scott Free Studios.

Well, that's certainly a lot of talent for a logline that sounds like a fuckin' Steven Segal DTV flick. But with this talent involved, and the fierce, seven-figure bidding war it's begun, there's bound to be something to it. So far, Netflix seems to be in the lead to purchase the package, currently spending the most it ever has on one pitch.

So what do you Schmoes think? As for me, I'll watch Hardy in anything. I also love the last project he did with Ridley Scott (the trippy FX series) as well as Dominik's bleak western, so I'm excited for sure.

No release date as of yet, but we'll definitely keep you posted as this project develops.
