What is Black Box about?
Steven Quale, the director of Final Destination 5, Into the Storm, Superfire, Aliens of the Deep, and American Renegades takes the helm of Black Box, working from a screenplay by Stephen Susco, whose previous credits include The Grudge (2004), The Grudge 2, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Unfriended: Dark Web, and Hell Fest.
Here’s the synopsis:
“What happened to Flight 298?” A routine domestic flight to Seattle on Vero Airlines turns into the flight from hell through a series of inexplicable phenomena and raw terror onboard. Surreal encounters blur the boundaries between reality and nightmare. Passengers fight against all the odds in an attempt to survive while combating bizarre technological malfunctions, accelerating supernatural events & alien influences
Susco also produced the film, alongside David Haring, Alex Lebovici, Christian Mercuri, Jonathan Oakes, and Warren Zide. Ruzanna Kegeyan, Roman Viaris, and Clark Baker serve as executive producers. Baker was the director of a 2012 short film called Vessel, and Black Box is a feature expansion of the Vessel concept. The script for the short film was written by Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer, a.k.a. The Duffer Brothers, the creators of Stranger Things.
