As technology becomes a bigger and bigger element in our lives shows like BLACK MIRROR become more and more relevant, finding new, more inventive ways to tell f**ked up stories rooted in future tech. The show has grown more popular with each and every season, no naturally people are dying to see what comes next in season five, and now you can get that first glimpse with the first trailer, featuring the likes of Anthony Mackie (AVENGERS), Angourie Rice (THE NICE GUYS), Andrew Scott (SHERLOCK) and Miley Cyrus.

In particular BLACK MIRROR fashion, there’s a lot of mystery around the stories we’ll see this season, but there’s some stuff to glean from in the short trailer. Scott’s story seems to take place during what looks like a huge meltdown as he fears there are "eyes everywhere" (he ain't wrong); Mackie’s story also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (AQUAMAN) and finds him missing an old flame; Rice plays a lonely girl who becomes attached to a robot toy/friend, which meshes into Cyrus’ story as she becomes a popstar, which sounds…just about right. Then there are glimpses at more interesting stuff, including a “Street Fighter”-type angle which sold me 100 percent.

The biggest takeaway is that this season there are only three episodes this season, which hasn't been done since the first season. Typically there are about 4-5 episodes, but last year we got the standalone outing BANDERSNATCH, which allowed viewers to control the outcome of the episode (though not as much as they would like) via a "Choose Your Own Adventure"-style format.
BLACK MIRROR season five hits Netflix June 5.
