This article contains a MAJOR POTENTIAL SPOILER for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever! Please read at your own peril!

Welp! The new Black Panther identity is seemingly getting spoiled by a LEGO set, of all things. I’m sure Marvel is thrilled right now. All that secrecy, NDA nonsense, and carefully plotted trailer business might have gone up in smoke. It’s the nature of the beast, I suppose, but still. Woof! If you don’t want to be spoiled about the new Black Panther identity, now is your time to turn back.

A preview image for an upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever LEGO set is making the rounds online, revealing which character wears an updated version of the iconic Black Panther suit. Announced by 9to5Toys, the LEGO Wakanda Forever lineup launching in October shows a familiar Black Panther character wearing an all-too-familiar outfit with a few new bells and whistles. This point in the article is your last chance to turn back. Please don’t say I didn’t want you.

There are three LEGO sets based around Wakanda Forever, all of which feature T’challa’s sister, Shuri, in some capacity. The three sets include Shuri’s Sunbird, King Namor’s Throne Room, and Shuri’s Lab. While the sets fail to name Shuri the new Black Panther, the character wears an augmented Black Panther suit for each LEGO set.

As the Princess of Wakanda, it makes sense that Shuri would inherit the Black Panther mantle in the new film. While the LEGO sets are far from official confirmation that Shuri (Letitia Wright) will become the next Black Panther, I think we can all put two and two together. She is wearing the suit teased at the end of the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer. You can see the gold trim and everything. Other candidates include Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Okoye (Danai Gurira). However, the new LEGO sets suggest otherwise. We’ll have to wait until the official release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to know if today’s information is accurate, though I’m reasonably sure Shuri is a lock for the coveted role as protector of Wakanda.

You can check out the photo of LEGO’s set for Namor’s Throne Room below, which includes a close-up of Namor, his wicked throne, an Atlantean warrior, and Shuri wearing part of her new outfit.

What do you think about Shuri possibly becoming the new Black Panther? Are LEGO sets as good as an official confirmation about this sort of thing? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
