Blade: Wesley Snipes open for a cameo in the upcoming MCU reboot

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wesley Snipes – the OG pre-MCU Blade – reiterated his support of the upcoming reboot and the casting of Mahershala Ali as the new Daywalker, stating:

I'm one thousand percent supportive of it. I think it's great. Go for it, my man!

And when asked if he'd be willing to cameo in the new film, Snipes was again gracious, saying:

You never know. Under the right circumstances, I'm open to play with everybody," he says. "I know that people associate me with that role. The Daywalker community out there is a part of the Daywalker clique and our global community identifies with a little bit of that world and the new definition of Daywalkers, these global hyphenated multitalented individuals capable doing more things at one time — skill masters, as we call them. So, we gon' keep going, we gon' keep bringing.

Honestly, I'd love to see Snipes make an appearance in the new Blade (possibly as a new Whistler?) But even if not, it is cool to know that he's at least supportive, nonetheless.

Meanwhile, there's no official release date for the upcoming Blade reboot (other than late 2022), though it is still rumored that Ali's Blade will meet up with Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness March 25, 2022.

Anyway, here's the official synopsis of the original film, which the reboot will probably take at least some inspiration from:

Searching for the vampire that killed his mother and turned him into a monster, Blade’s fight leads him to Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff). Frost is a rising force in the vampire world, set on raising a God bent on destroying mankind.

So what do you guys think? Looking forward to the new Blade film? Either way, sound off below!
